The Ice breaker trip on 2 January 2008 did not see much ice on the canal but there was plenty in the glasses on board. Although the temperature outside was chilly the atmosphere on board was warm and cosy with plenty of chat between friends old and new.

Duke
On Saturday 20 September 2008 Society members set out for a bus trip to the Crinan Canal. On arrival at the Ardishaig Sea Lock some members set out to walk the length of the canal to Crinan with a stop, for lunch, at the locks at the Cairnbann Hotel. The photographs above show the group before setting off on the walk and boats coming through the Sea Lock. The Bridge which the Chairman is posing next to is a slide bridge over the canal at Dunardry. The final three photos were taken at the end of the walk at Crinan and show a view of the locks there along with the Duke of Normandy which is moored in the basin at Crinan. Some of the group can be seen taking a well earned refreshment at the Hotel overlooking the Crinan Locks.
Kelvin Aquaduct
On Saturday 4 October 2008 the 3 Society Boats attended the "Big Man" Festival at Maryhill Locks. The festival was held to promote and obtain the public views on a proposed footbridge across the canal at Stockingfield Junction. This bridge would join the towpath coming from Cadder to the path on the Maryhill side of the canal and would allow users to cross the canal without having to go down onto Lochburn Rd and up onto the towpath on the other side. There were boat trips along the canal to Stockingfield Junction and also on the Aquaduct over the River Kelvin. There were also various local groups represented giving out information on other events and local issues.
