| The puffer "Spartan" was given a new lease of life at the Maratime Museum in Irvine on 27 August 2007. She was built for war service in 1942 by J.Hay and Sons in Kirkintilloch and retired in 1980. She in now afloat after some refabrication work with plans for her to become a floating interactive theatre which will visit coastal towns. (Photos courtesy of C. Inglis) |
