SATURDAY TRIPS

After another enjoyable season, the Saturday Trips between the Glasgow Road Bridge (A803 at The Stables) and Kirkintilloch (Townhead) have finished for 2011. They will recommence in 2012. Watch here for updates

CREW TRAINING has been completed for 2011.

HAVE YOU GOT SPARE TIME OR FEEL LIKE VOLUNTEERING TO SAIL ON THE FORTH AND CLYDE CANAL? GOT AN INTEREST IN THE CANAL OR CANAL BOATS ?

Interested in the canal or the boats, got some free time?. Why not come and join us and do some crew training and help to sail the boats on our trips? Come along to our Wednesday nights sessions commencing in 2012 at 7.30p.m. .This training does not just involve sailing and using ropes, teas/coffees often have to be made on our trips as well as other cleaning and maintenance work. Why not come along some night to our moorings at The Stables on the A803 between Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch? You might enjoy it!

ALL MEMBERS TO NOTE ---- On the 1st Wednesday of each month formal training will be suspended. The night will be a members get together with a short sail on the canal commencing at 7.30pm.(Tea or coffee will be available)

Winter Talk - This month the presentation will be "The Tall Ship at Riverside"- Friends of the Glenlee. We will be meeting at our office in Southbank Marina, Kirkintilloch at 7.30pm
Sat 10 March
Lowland Canal Volunteer Group. -- The first of their 2012 workdays is planned for the Almond Feeder for the Union Canal. Further details will follow later.
Thurs 29th March
Winter Talk - This month the presentation will be by Chris O'Connell from British Waterways and the subject will be "Canal Heritage through Documents and Records". We will meet at our office in Southbank Marina, Kirkintilloch at 7.30pm
Dates to be announced
Falkirk Wheel 10. -- To celebrate 10years of The Falkirk Wheel , an event is being organised for a week end in the summer. Further details will be added when the are announced.
